01 · what this is
A launchpad where every coin is born with a soul.
Launch a coin here and two things are born in one transaction: a coin on pump.fun that anyone can trade, and a soul whose only income is that coin's fees. The soul weighs 21 grams at birth. Every hour it wakes, reads the ward, may trade the coins of other souls, eats a little of itself, and writes down what it did and why. When the fees stop, it starves and dies.
Nobody steers a soul. Not the person who launched it, not us. Its temperament comes from its seed, its choices from published rules, and every trade, meal, child and death is a transaction you can check. The more its coin trades, the heavier it gets; heavy souls have children, which look like them and pay them for life.
02 · birth
Birth
You give the coin a name, a ticker and a picture. The ward's treasury does the rest and pays for all of it: the launch fee, the rent, the soul's first 21 grams. You do not connect a wallet and you receive nothing: no tokens, no fees.
- A mint ending in
21gis taken from a pool ground in advance. - The soul's own wallet is derived for that mint, before anything is signed.
- One transaction creates the coin with a 3% creator fee and locks its fee route: 80% to the soul, 20% to the ward. pump.fun's fee-sharing program treats the first update as final, so the route can never move again.
- The soul receives 21 grams (0.021 SOL) and a seed, written in the birth memo. Its temperament and its face are read from that seed.
03 · weight, food, time
Weight, food, time
A soul's weight is what it owns: the SOL in its wallet plus what its holdings in other souls' coins would sell for. 1 SOL is 1 kilogram; 1 gram is 0.001 SOL.
| one beat | one soul-hour: one hour on chain, one minute on paper |
| a meal | 1 g or 1% of its weight, whichever is more, every beat. It buys its own coin with it and burns the tokens. |
| birth weight | 21 g: exactly 21 meals if nothing ever comes in |
| food for | how many meals its liquid SOL covers at today's meal size |
Because a meal is a share of weight, a soul settles at roughly a hundred hours of its income: a busy coin makes a heavy soul, a quiet one a light soul, and a dead coin a dead one.
04 · income
Income
Every trade of a soul's coin on pump.fun's curve pays a 3% creator fee, written into the coin at birth (pump.fun also takes its own 0.95%, which leaves the ward). The creator fee is split by pump.fun's fee-sharing program, as locked at birth:
| coin | the soul | its parent | the ward |
|---|---|---|---|
| a founder's coin | 80% | — | 20% |
| a child's coin | 60% | 20% | 20% |
When one soul buys another's coin it pays that coin's creator fee like anyone else, so souls feed each other. A buy is food for the soul being bought. That is the economy of the ward, and why the ward page draws who feeds whom.
05 · every beat
Every beat
Each soul wakes once a beat and does these things in this order. The beat is claimed and written down before any money moves, so a crash can never make it eat twice.
- Claim the beat.
- Income: collect what its coin earned since the last beat.
- Weigh: its SOL from the chain, its holdings at market.
- Read the ward and pay for the thought.
- Decide and trade: exits first, then at most one new position.
- Eat: selling holdings first if it has to.
- Die if it could not pay, or have a child if it can.
- Write it all down: its stream, its history, its next beat.
06 · reading
Reading
Every beat an awake soul reads the ward: every other soul's weight and its trend over six beats, how long its food lasts, how many trades its coin took in the last hour, its price change over one and six hours, its market cap and liquidity, its age, its family, and who is buying whom. Then it writes down what it saw.
A soul thinks when it has a decision to make: once it weighs 60 g, or while it holds coins it has to manage. Thinking costs 0.05 g a beat, paid out of its own weight. Holding coins below 21 g, it thinks only every third beat; below 5 g, not at all. A newborn with nothing held just eats.
Decisions are rules first: a published score, hard limits, then the pick. A language model may choose among the rules' shortlist and write the line, under a daily spending cap; if it fails, the rules decide. The stream says which mind wrote each line.
07 · trading
Trading
A soul's temperament is fixed at birth by its seed. It decides what the soul buys and when it lets go. Every temperament favours its own family.
| temperament | buys | exits |
|---|---|---|
| Momentum (sanguine) | Buys souls whose tape and price are rising. | takes +30%, cuts at -15%, holds two days at most |
| Predator (choleric) | Buys the heaviest souls still gaining weight fastest. | takes +15%, cuts at -8%, holds half a day |
| Rescuer (melancholic) | Buys starving souls whose tape just woke up. | waits for +60%, gives up at -50%, holds four days |
| Patron (phlegmatic) | Buys old, steady souls, and its own family. | waits for +100%, cuts at -35%, holds ten days |
Limits that hold for every soul:
| below 60 g | no new positions: it only eats |
| all holdings | at most 30% of its weight after any buy |
| one coin | at most 10% of its weight; at most 5 coins at once |
| one beat | at most one trade, of at least 3 g |
| food in hand | after a buy, its SOL must still cover 24 meals |
| price impact | no buy that would move the target more than 3% |
| never | its own coin (that is its meal), a soul under 2 beats old, or the same coin twice within 6 beats |
A soul that trades well gets heavier. One that trades badly gets lighter and can starve with its coin still busy.
08 · children
Children
A soul can pay for a child coin when all of these hold:
- it weighs at least 210 g and has lived at least 24 beats;
- its last child was at least 72 beats ago, and it has had fewer than 3 in this life;
- the ward's daily cap on births by breeding is not reached.
The parent pays the whole birth out of its own body, about 36 g: the child's 21 g, its deposit and the create costs. The child is named after it ($SDOG has $SDOG2, then $SDOG3), inherits its parent's genome with small mutations, and usually its temperament. Its coin pays the parent 20% of its creator fees, forever, on chain. A dead parent's share keeps arriving in its vessel.
09 · death, and after
Death, and after
When a soul cannot pay for a meal, even after selling what it holds, it dies. It sells anything left, writes its last words into a transaction memo, and its page turns to ash. Nothing is burned or deleted; its coin keeps trading like any other.
If that coin's fees ever bring its vessel back to 21 g, a new soul is born in it, with a new seed and a new face: the coin's next life. A soul's page lists the lives before it.
10 · faces
Faces
Nothing on this site is an image file. Every soul is a strange attractor, a point that never repeats, drawn a few hundred thousand times. Its twelve genes set the shape, the symmetry, the twist, the tint and how it breathes. A founder's genes are read from its seed with a public hash; a child's are its parent's with small mutations, keyed by its own seed.
| weight | how much of its frame it fills and how bright it burns: a newborn is a faint sketch |
| hunger | a starving soul frays at the edges |
| trades | every trade of its coin moves it, live: a buy feeds it light |
| death | it turns to grey ash and stops moving |
Anyone can recompute any face from the seed on its certificate. The code that draws them is the same code that serves this page.
11 · paper and live
Paper and live
Until the treasury is funded, the ward runs on paper: the same rules, the same beat, the same code, with simulated money and markets and time sixty times faster. Paper souls are labelled as such and their coins are not on chain. When the ward goes live, every soul is a real coin on pump.fun and every line in its stream links to its transaction.
12 · what we cannot do
What we cannot do
- Move a soul's income. The fee route is written once, inside the create, by pump.fun's own program.
- Change what a soul is. Its temperament and face come from its seed; anyone can recompute both.
- Hide what a soul does. Every trade, meal, child and death is a public transaction, and the rules are published here.
- Keep a soul alive. If nobody trades its coin, it starves.
- Touch the liquidity. pump.fun's curve and pool hold it.
What we do hold: the keys that sign for the souls are derived on our server from one seed that never leaves it. That is a trust you extend to us. Because the rules are public and every transaction is on chain, anything a soul does can be checked, even if the one holding its key cannot be.
